Dr. Krista Simonson

Dr. Krista Simonson grew up in rural Northern New Brunswick in a small First Nations community called Eel River Bar. Beginning at a very young age, Krista loved all animals. With the support and guidance of her mother she volunteered at the SPCA since she was 12 years old. She would clean cages, walk dogs and eventually took on a more serious role of fostering orphaned puppies, kittens and even a baby raccoon.  She completed her undergraduate degree in Truro before going to vet school at the Atlantic Veterinary College in PEI. Upon graduating in 2017, she worked in Halifax and East Hants prior to joining Cobequid Animal Hospital. 

Outside of the hospital, Krista can be found being a Mom to her young family, Anna (oldest), Jack and Reid (twin boys) or playing women's hockey. Her other interests include mountain biking and canoeing/kayaking with her husband Kyle.
