What happens during nutrition counselling for pets?
Our veterinarians will discuss the importance of a balanced diet. There is not one diet for every pet, so we will talk about your pet uniquely and help you to choose the best food option. Your pet’s lifestyle and potential specific nutritional requirements will be considered in great detail. Periods of growth (puppies and kittens), senior years, food allergies, acute and chronic diseases all will alter your pet’s nutrition requirements. How should I prepare for my pet’s nutrition counselling?
You should be prepared to answer questions we would go over during the appointment such as: What diet your does your pet eat? Do several pets in the same household have different nutritional requirements? Is your pet currently on any supplements? What are your pets eating patterns (e.g. are they free fed or meal fed)?
